Mikail Mumuni is an accomplished Nigerian journalist with experience spanning many notable newspapers, magazines and online publications.

He began his journalism career with the defunct The Democrat newspapers and was its Dodan Barracks Correspondent during the regime of President Ibrahim Babangida.

Mumuni who is a 1986 graduate of History from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife had also served as Senior Assistant Editor of TELL Magazine, Politics & Features Editor of Punch newspapers, Deputy Editor of Nigerian Compass, Senior Associate Editor of Newswatch magazine, Nation’s Capital Editor of Newswatch newspapers, Managing Editor of The State Online and Editor-in-Chief of The Shield Online before joining Resort International Limited in June, 2020 as Group Corporate Affairs Manager.

A widely traveled journalist, Mumuni has covered many important assignments across Nigeria, West Africa, Europe, Japan and the US and has had exclusive interviews with many prominent personalities, including that with Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka at the UN Commission Session on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland in 1998.

He is an alumnus of the US State Department sponsored International Visitors Program, a Fellow of the US based Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG) , member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).
